Eyeballed

It was pure chance to see this Silver Y Moth zooming at a pace, nectaring as it went through the flowers in the garden, during a break in the rainfall.

I did have my lens set up on the feeders and it was amusing to watch the 10 squabbling goldfinches vying for a place on the niger feeder! We have also our great tit family, blue tit family , tons of sparrows, great spotted woodpeckers, blackbirds, dunnocks and I even spotted a male bullfinch and they never usually come round this side of the house. On walking round the garden there was not one but two piles of feathers obviously from our collared doves which means we have either a sparrow hawk or kestrel around; not surprising really with all the tiny birds having bred here this summer.
