Still Life With Plums (Sunday 26th August 2018)

While Tom was thinning out the plum tree and reducing the height he was able to retrieve a few of these delicious plums. I've had very few this year as they were mostly growing out of my reach, so the birds had most of them. Hopefully next year the work done on the tree will make next year's crop more obtainable. Today seemed a good day for a still life. I have eaten the plums.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Beyond The Wizard's Sleeve - Creation (2016)
I've heard this on 6 Music many times but only today did I discover that it isn't by Stereolab, as anyone might assume, but by Erol Alkan and Richard Norris trading as Beyond The Wizard's Sleeve (actually without an apostrophe but I can't bring myself to commit that particular grammar crime). The Laetitia Sadier-like harmonies come from guest vocalists Jane Weaver and Hannah Peel, and it was Hannah Peel who played it while hosting Guy Garvey's Finest Hour this afternoon.
It was Erol Alkan who released that brilliant mash-up in the early 2000s of Kylie Minogue's Can't Get You Out of My Head and New Order's Blue Monday,  which was actually performed by Kylie Minogue at the Brit Awards.
