Slowly Shifting Colors

Dear Diary,

My hydrangeas are slowly transitioning from white to the lovely pink shade they become as they age.  I love this soft ripening.  I didn’t plant the showy snowball variety lots of people like, preferring this one that changes over time…as we all do.  Human aging is a soft ripening too.  (Don't worry, I'm not going to start that again!)

The garden is changing, day by day.  It senses the change coming and is preparing to let go.  Some see it as a sad time but, for me, it is just the slowly turning wheel and each season brings a new beauty.  Enjoy it while you can.
