Castles in the sky

An eventful day started early with great nephews and neices waking early with excitement to get to the beach.  A glorious sunny but windy day.  Sadly l had to make a trip to Edinburgh for a meeting  and the joyful part of the day to be lunch and a gallery trip with daut no. 2.  She was not feeling at all well having had  5 long days work at the end of the festival and a staff party last night.  She met me then had to return back to bed.. unable to eat or drink till sleep had been had.  So l visited the Barbara Rae exhibition on my own... and loved it.  I may have bought one of her small paintings had it not already sold... the biggest one was out of budget at £36k!!!  I grabbed a snack and headed home early.  The rest of the day was taken up being concerned for Flossie who managed to find and devour a quantity of dry dog food before being caught head inside bag.  I had to take her to the vet when she started howling and looking unrested half and hour later.. she was in a lot of discomfort and l was very concerned.  They thought she would probably be ok and gave her a painkiller or two to ease the discomfort saying that he would gradually feel better over the evening.  She was in a lot of discomfort until about 9.45 when suddenly she relaxed and started sleeping instead of pacing and howling. Her tummy certainly feels full and l am contemplating leaving her outdoor access for the night as l am expecting some sort of explosion at some time in the night and would much rather it wasnt on a carpet!!! I really wanted an evening drink and an early night but neither ended up on the cards incase l needed an emergency dash to the out of hours vet.  Hopefully tomorrow will be more straight forward...
