Finish Off With An Ice Cold Lemon Granita

Seville was our destination for the day and having seen it voted as no 1 in the top ten cities to visit in Europe, we were keen to explore, although it has also been described as in August being the ‘boiling pot of Europe’. It lived up to it’s reputation on both counts.

Having done Alhambra we decided not to do the Real Alcázar but instead did a walking tour taking in the cathedral, the Plaza de Espana the Torre Ore and a walk along the river. In 38 deg temperatures that was quite enough for all of us and we were grateful to finish off with an ice cold lemon granita.

Here at the Plaza de Espana, built in 1929 for the Expo, are ceramic representations of each town/province in Spain. It was an amazing place, but it did have a feel of Disney about it with the vivid colours and opulence.
