It's Grim Up North

Occupation of The Rhineland

Somewhere in this photo, on a horse or in a horse drawn wagon with a large gun on it, is my grand father. As my grandmother was leaving the WAAC in France in 1919 my grandfather was entering Cologne, with his battery, to take part in the post war occupation.

A photo of my grandfather in extras. He would be about 29 in this image. I guess that's ammunition around his neck. He was never armed with anything more than a rubber band when I knew him 40 years later.
