Square goes ....

All go again today.
A cow with a dead calf yesterday so lifted a spare one from next door to twin onto her.
The contractor in with his Krone big baler to do the wheat straw next to the houses at Mayfield. This let us get 3 trailers on carting them home before the natives had time to cause havoc with them.
Once that was done went back down with the round baler and got another field of barley straw done . The stuff they are cutting tonight should be fit to bale tomorrow , fingers crossed.
Just getting home when the hill herd phoned needing a cow calved . It was a pure limousin with a gigantic calve. It was dead before I started with the calving jack , then it got stuck at the hips . Eventually got it out and luckily the cow got back on her feet. Will need to see if she is fit to take a calf tomorrow . Hope this is a one off and not the start of big calves after the recent grass growth. Ho hum.
