Barrels of fun

As usual when we are down here the family treat us to a day out in London.

Today we went to see this amazing art installation in the Serpentine in London’s Hyde Park.
It consists of 7506 brightly painted oil drums. They weigh 60 tons and float in the lake. They are as tall as the Sphinx in Egypt.

The artist Christo (83)sees this as a test for a similar one he plans to build in Abu Dhabi. But that one will be eight times as tall as the London one. At least they should have plenty of barrels over there.

An enjoyable day including looking at all the developments behind King’ Cross station. What a transformation.
