"You done awesome!"

I think that Santorini is mainly a  young person's island.  That is not to say that there aren't older people here - both residents and visitors.  But this place definitely appeals to young couples and is popular for weddings and honeymoons.

We are among the older visitors and, on occasions, have seemingly been acknowledged as such (but only in a respectful, friendly way).  Yesterday  on our boat trip, the skipper invited us up to sit by him - on the comfortable seats and in the shade - to avoid getting splashed at the front of the boat (where most of the youngsters headed).

This morning we decided to climb Skaros rock (in the foreground of yesterday's blip). We did this early in the day, before breakfast and before the temperature rose too much, but it was still hot work, involving steep steps down from the village to the church in my blip, then a steep path up to the rock itself.  Some young American girls went up ahead of us, and we were still on the way up when they returned.  We commented on their speed (and the fact that they only wore flip-flops on their feet) and, in return, they complimented us on our progress, saying "you done awesome!".

We definitely felt like the elderly couple!
