South Coast Scribblings

At rest

The builders take the whole of Sunday off, so apart from the low throbbing sound of generators the site at the back of us is silent. You can see the concrete base and rows of bricks for the first two houses that they have been building. We also have jolly red and white fencing lining a new footpath to prevent those on foot getting muddy on wet days. I will put an extra or two photos in showing the road that will provide access/egress to the 286 houses that will eventually be built on the site (between the two grassy edge bits).

We visited the local Anglican Church today - what a jolly, welcoming crowd! We really felt comfortable. (We had briefly met a few of them yesterday morning when we popped to have a closer look at the church - by coincidence they had a working party in the very well kept graveyard). It was a family service and we were served with bread by the children in a sort of half communion! Afterwards coffee was served outside and we were offered a sherry as we went out for this (which my husband happily accepted!). Biscuits too, so happy! We will definitely want to keep up links with this lovely community even if we don’t go there every week. It was great to meet some really local people though.
