Skylark

We could hear the skylark singing but not see it until someone asked what was that on the path ahead of us. There it was, singing its little heart out.

A lot of zoom and cropping was needed, so the image is a little soft but I have only seen them high in the sky before and it was good to be able to see detail. There was only one chance at a shot before it took off.

Visiting son and partner left today to return to Australia - they will be sorely missed.
