Rescue!

Late afternoon yesterday we managed to capture this white-cheecked Turaco. It was enticed into our large dog cage with some apples. He spent the night in our summer house.

We managed to get the number off the ring on his leg but with no success in locating the owner. The number started 05 which according to our information meant it was hatched in 2005.
This morning we contacted RSPB and a very nice lady came and managed to get him into the cage you can see in the background.
It was a bit sad to see him go but I am so pleased he will be looked after by experts.
