The alarm goes at five. We’re in a tent. In a field. An Electromagnetic Field. Stirring ourselves, and remembering our objective for the day, we pack our sleeping kit and emerge into the darkness to pack the tent. No Big Trak transport for us. We lug our temporary home across the site and depart for Birmingham airport.

BHX is clogged by retired holidaymakers who have little idea how to negotiate an airport at all, let alone efficiently. It takes an age to clear security, but our interesting collection of electronics and lithium batteries passes without issue, then finally breakfast and COFFEE!

Lunch is held in Copenhagen airport. It’s Jacob’s job to show that he can manage an airport transit into the Schengen area without my guidance. He almost manages. A visit to the Lego shop is incorporated and and a purchase made.

A short hop to Oslo, and we’re back home in time for tea, almost twelve hours since we started out. Reunited, the kids build their Lego and soon resume squabbling. All is right with the world.

We start planning almost immediately for EMF 2020. When do the tickets go on sale?
