Golden Rod

I spent some of the morning at my daughter’s home as a bee’s nest was being removed from the roof by one of the dormer windows. Hornets had invaded the nest and they had killed the bees. The dead bees and hornets have been removed and the pest control man had finished by 1100 hours. The man to rebuilding the work will not arrive until the end of the day. I came home, as there did not seem any point in sitting there when I was not needed.

Today’s picture is of one stem of Golden Rod flowers, which are flowering in a dark corner. The main bush has almost finished flowering and this is a self-seeded patch in a different border.
