Tiny weevil

This is a really tiny weevil - scarcely 2mm long - but shining golden scales and a distinctive keyhole pattern on its back. Another species from the saltmarsh, Sibinia arenariae is associated with sea spurreys around the coast of southern Britain. It seems a suitable subject for Tiny Tuesday which is hosted by Debbi.

After the fine start to the month, it felt much more autumnal today, but there was less distraction from report writing, and I also managed to scarify some areas of grass ready for sowing seeds of wildflowers that I've been gathering from local grasslands over the last week or so.
