solar powered lighthouse

...just like last Sunday, it was a beautiful day of blue skies and sunshine.

This morning, we went for a delightful walk in part of Affpuddle and Moreton Forest, a choice that was as much work as pleasure. Over the next few years, I am working with the Forestry Commision and other organisations, to create a photo-documentary of the Wild Purbeck NIA project. The FC is the main player in this nature improvement scheme and has identified seventeen locations across three of its Dorset forests that are being managed back to their original lowland heath state.

After lunch, we popped into Higher Hyde Heath Dorset WT Reserve to see if anything was about. Nothing was, but we had another excellent stroll.

Finally, I ran down to Anvil Point just before the sun was due to set because I have been toying for ages with the idea of catching the sun shining through the lighthouse lantern as it sinks towards the horizon. I shot a few frames of the lighthouse with the sun on the water just in case it didn't pay off, but I think it worked reasonably well. No filters this time, that is just how it was...
