...it was a delight to wake up and discover that the prophesied rain had not arrived and did not, in fact, arrive until lunchtime. This meant we were able to go for an unexpected walk in Rempstone Forest for further attempts at capturing some goldcrest images.

Once again, there were plenty of these delightful little birds around but, also once again, they proved too quick and furtive to photograph. We could hear several crossbills but didn't actually see any today. In fact, the only bird I was able to get a half decent shot of was this little Meadow Pipit, Anthus pratensis hopping about in a Corsican Pine...
