The sun shines through!

The weather here in California is so much cooler and drier than in Newark, New Jersey! To the point where I’m considering getting myself a fleece!

A quiet day today. Washing clothes and going for a couple of walks and sitting in the garden reading a book. “Lotta Crabtree, gold rush fairy star” by Lois V. Harris. When we were on Lake Hopatcong we went out on a boat : Miss Lotta. During the gold rush children performed for the miners who loved to see them dance and sing. They rarely saw children. Lotta started when she was eight and from being the miner’s pet went on to become a big star. She started in the hills behind the SAN Francisco Bay Area but finally she bought a house on the side of Lake Hopatcong. A very interesting life. I had started the book in Newark and today we went to the library to get their copy which I finished in the garden! (Extra)

Many thanks to Bob for hosting Wide Wednesday-weather. This was taken with the fisheye setting on my camera!
