‘Back blip’

Well Heathrow... 2 hour delay in landing from Johannesburg, not the greatest of flights with not the greatest of seats but it could of been worse. We arrived safely back into London after 6 weeks in Africa.

We then crossed over to Kings Cross Station helping another traveller along the way to navigate the train system, she was going to Euston.

Once at Kings Cross we settled in the pub to have an earlyish lunch, charge phones, catch up with the world and generally relax before our train. When we looked at the departures board for our platform number we were delighted to find out our train to Hull on Hull Trains was cancelled resulting in a quick run to St Pancras to catch a train there to Sheffield, to then be told we couldn’t use our tickets on that train so had to run back to Kings Cross to then get on a train to Doncaster and finally a train to Hull, all whilst pulling our luggage behind us. We eventually arrived in Hull at 5pm to be picked up by my mum. Seeing mum was wonderful and she was a very welcome sight after an eventful trip home!

It was then to R’s mums to be reunited with our much loved and missed border collie, who promptly let us know she was not impressed in the slightest that we’d left her and was going to say hello in her time and once she’d finished eating her dinner. Once she did come to say hello to us, it was big cuddles and hellos. I think she’s probably missed us very much this time, particularly as she’s not been very well and there have been a couple of trips to the vets.

It wasn’t too long before the jet lag caught up with us and we called it a day.
