I hadn't realised when we made playdough this morning that the Flumlet had a scratch on his hand. The high level of salt in the mix made the wound quite sore, so I gave him a pair of latex gloves which, of course, were far too big. He managed well, despite the finger ends flopping about. We didn't have time to make anything, still less bake it so that activity can be saved for next week.
Earlier we took the wheat I'd collected last weekend, rubbed out the grains, winnowed them outside and had a go at grinding them - a task he undertook with enthusiasm. As predicted, it proved time-consuming and hard work so we resolved to use packet flour for our playdough.
