Mono Monday.

Today we drove 100k north to a small town that was hosting the regional spelling bee for children in grades 3-4. There were 11 schools and each had up to two students making 21 participants. They all had a turn to spell a word. Once they misspelled a word they were eliminated. I got most of them right but a couple of words I had never heard of.

Maddy and Jake represented Perthville Public School and they were great, Maddy coming tied third place finding “ampere” too hard to continue.

We arrived early and were impressed with the Kandos Community Hall, large and in good order for a tiny town. The countryside is changing to green after a welcome fall of rain and a few warm days. Kandos is known for making cement.
