Pies In Julian

There is a small town a little over an hour away from San Diego that is renowned for their pies. Originally a mining town after gold was discovered in 1870 it was mostly abandoned by 1906. The fertile valley, however, produced diverse, high quality apples, which certain entrepenuaers used to create delicious pies. Today, these pies draw people from far and wide to this town in the middle of nowhere. And yes, the piece of peach/apple pie I had was well worth the drive!
