Port Eynon

Got up to a wet, windy morning, togged up and went out to Port Eynon Point, waiting for the tide to receed enough to get out to the shale bank.

Below the point stands the remains of the 16c Salt house, built by the local Lucas family, who apparently built it from wealth gained from piracy! Thought to also control an active smuggling business through Culver Cove (next to the salt house), customs had a team of 6 in the village, but didn't ever get any evidence of it.
