Campfire

Today it mostly rained!
We knew that the forecast was pretty rubbish so we searched around for things to do and found Cantref Farm near Brecon.
Half an hour's drive through the lovely Welsh countryside. Miss K and I went on a PGL in Brecon when I was 11 or 12 and then another one at Lake Langorse. It was like a trip down memory lane!
The farm was fun - soft play for when it was raining (on and off all day!), a cafe which had tea, chilli, chips and cake, an AMAZING giant slide/sledge down the hill (See extras for Mummy about to overtake Miss L. Whoop whoop!!!), trampolines, paddle boats, a brilliant wall with holes in which you had to kick footballs through, an old school plastic tree slide/swing like you used to get in pub gardens in the Eighties and a rope/net course.
I suspect there may have been animals - as it's a farm - but we didn't see any as we were too busy with everything else!!
After a last bit of cake in the cafe and browse in the shop it was time to head home. The Little Misses were unconscious within about two minutes and slept all the way back!!
It was chucking it down when we left the farm and rained all the way home but, ever the optimists, Mrs C and I got back into her car once we'd dropped everyone off at the campsite and headed to the Co-Op in Hay on Wye for meat and logs.
They only had one bag of logs so when we got back to the campsite we stopped at the reception bit and asked if we could have a couple more bags. It was raining so heavily that I could only open my window and inch or two without getting soaked!
But our optimism was rewarded and by the time we'd driven down to the river the sun was coming out and Mr M got working on the campfire.
Mr K got working on the Cadac cooking meat.
Lambsteak, chicken, chipolatas and hot dogs.
Dinner was fairly vegetable light!!!
The campfire was huge and boiling hot. Millions of marshmallows were toasted (as well as thrown in the air and caught - or not - in mouths!!) Miss E and Mr L orchestrated a bizarre talent contest - Hay Got Talent - which involoved skipping, telling riddles and jokes, and the most frightening story competition. Proper frightening!!
Annoyingly a few more people have arrived today so the site is a bit busier. Having had it mostly to ourselves for the last few nights (see extras) we've got a bit proprietorial!! Ha ha!! Annoying other campers with their annoying dogs and annoying tents and annoying voices!!!!!
