Friendship Sage

September means long shadows on the lawn in my back garden.
The grass is thick and lush right now, it’s hard to believe how brown and scorched it looked only a few weeks ago.
I saw the salvia from my kitchen window so went straight out in my pjs to capture the moment the sun was kissing it.
It’s official name is Salvia hybrda ‘Amistad’ but it is commonly known as Friendship sage: a tender perennial that l hope l can save over the winter.
I grow it in a large pot so will move it under the veranda and cover it with fleece, won’t be missing much by doing that as it’s deciduos and has nothing to show for six months of the year.
Washing, cleaning and the gym will take care of the rest of the day.
