the extra mile

8 hours from Honolulu to Chicago, 3 from Chicago to New York. 12 hours in the Big Apple on 9/11. 6 hours overnight from Newark to Heathrow. Half an hour with Sarah at Euston. 5 hours train to Dumfries. Mum picked him up at the station and drove him home.  We stopped off at Tesco to stock up on painkillers for his wisdom teeth.  I think he will sleep well tonight.

There are still a few swallows whizzing about, and I spotted a flock of fieldfares at the end of the garden.

Bivvy night tonight. In view of all the comings and goings, I'm keeping it local and sleeping in my favourite spot in the woods :-)
