The Ferryman..... Barmouth

Another wonderful day of exploration and experiences, and friendly people. Took an earlyish costal train to Barmouth and had a wander around the little town, overlooked by a beautiful church, St John's, lots of tourists, walkers and dogs. I saw the ferry boat coming in and was a bit apprehensive about going on it, but plucked up courage, and very glad I did, a lovely, gentle, friendly man... Took the ride across the Mawdach Estuary to the Ferry Station, and then took the miniature steam railway to the village of Fairbourne, where I had a bag of chips and an ice-cream.
A surprise view of Harlech castle from the train on the return journey.
Cloudy on and off, and breezy but not cold, more extras if you are interested of the long bridge and the steam train... relaxing now with a pink gin and grapefruit.... only one more day, I don't want to go home!!
Thank you for all the responses to yesterday's Portmeirion...do visit if you get the chance, you won't be disappointed.
