Looks Good To Me

Today we returned to the Denver hotel we started from a week ago, after a circular journey of 1,000 miles by road and close to 200 miles on Colorado’s historic railroads. It was a wonderful trip, albeit a bit of a sensory overload.

The highlight of today’s journey was a visit to the Ute* museum in Montrose. The museum had displays of artifacts, including beautiful examples of beadwork and leather articles the tribe is renowned for.

The graphic display in my photo dramatically illustrates the gradual displacement of the Utes from the lands they had occupied from time immemorial — a series of broken promises. This is just one of many similar stories.
