Pyracantha

Today's the day ........................ to see red

There seems to be lots of red plants in the garden all of a sudden - which I suppose must mean that autumn has arrived.

I noticed lots of berries on the holly tree this morning that the bluetits were getting stuck into.  There are bright red hips on the rose bushes and trails of scarlet leaves on the Virginia Creeper.  This Pyracantha is positively on fire - which seems very apt considering that its common name is 'fireglow' .

Let's hope that they all stick around for a while so we can enjoy this red time of year ………………..
