Outside

I saw this tree fern frond as I was leaving the inpatient unit today. It shows the classic koru shape. In Te Reo (the Maori language) koru means loop. In art, sculpture and tattooing the koru is a common shape, representing new life, growth, strength and peace. The shape conveys the idea of perpetual movement, and the inner coil suggests a return to a point of origin.
