Eridge Rocks

After battling the traffic in Tunbridge Wells, where we went to pick up a soup maker Mum wanted,  I rowned around the the local area looking for somewhere peaceful to stop so I could take the camera for a walk.

We found a lovely farmshop with cafe, and had an ice cream, before moving onto one of the local nature reserves, Eridge Rocks.  This is an ancient woodland site featuring giant sandstone boulders over 135miliion years old, as well as veteran oak and yew trees.

I spent a happy hour clambering over the rocks (which are used, with permission, by local climbers).  The woods were just beginning to hint at autumn.  This is a place I will try and visit again.
