Gone with the wind

Phew it was hot this morning. We used our final day with the Thompson Twingo to go to Megalochori, another ancient village of winding streets and old dwellings.
This was a little cave used to store wine and food. it is painted in vivid colours unusually for Santorini as everything else is mostly blue and/or white.
After that we went to a beach at Monolithos where we ate fish again and sunbathed and went swimming in the warm Aegean.
This evening LooseCanon rinsed out his swimming trunks and hung them over the balcony of our room. A big gust of wind came and they went flying up into the air making a graceful swooping descent onto the balcony of the room below. He went and reported this unfortunate incident to the man on reception who kindly retrieved them for him. I have visions of Manuel from Fawlty Towers trying to explain the situation in broken English to the unfortunate occupants of the room.
We were speculating on what might have happened had they blown out to sea. They might have fouled the propellor of the huge P and O cruise liner just departing  in the bay below. Or worse, they might have featured in National Geographic as one of those awful photos of man made objects wrapped around a dolphin rendering it unable to feed its young.and causing everyone to worry about the state of the planet.
Anyway he has got them back now. Not learning from this incident, he almost kicked his shoe off just now and I don't know how he would have explained that to the receptionist .
