I Promised a Bird

Okey doke - here it is. The Australian Pelican (Pelecanus conspicillatus). These would have to be one of the most easily recognised birds in Australia. They are massive - close to 2 metres wing tip to wing tip.

We are down in Goolwa - a famous small town, which was once a very important port on the River Murray. These days it's a bit of a back water, very quiet, and just a lovely place to stay.

Internet access is fairly limited here, so I won't be able to comment until we get back into town on Thursday. I can't even get connection with my iPad and fortunately Rower's laptop has saved the day - although it's still very slow.
