Cactus Flower

We are over the moon at the moment - for the very first time, the Rower spotted a blue banded bee in our own garden. I was so tempted to blip it, but thought that two in 2 days was perhaps overdoing it just a little. I took a few images of it, and it got really cross and started to fly at me buzzing very loudly. I suppose if you are tiny and you see a great big black thing coming at you, it would be terrifying.

Anyway, I resisted the temptation, and decided instead to go with this very beautiful flower, just as a change from endless insect macros. The colour is amazing and these flowers only last 24 hours.
