A La Ronde

We visited the National Trust A La Ronde today.  It is a fascinating 16 sided house dating back to the 1790s.  It was the work of cousins Jane and Mary Parminter who let their imaginations run wild in design and ornamentation with walls decorated with feathers, shells and pictures made from seaweed and sand..  Pictured is one of the diamond windows on the ground floor showing how they overcame the problem of hanging curtains within the oval reveals.
