Life through the lens...

The big guns.

Pond clearing on a big scale.
Certainly a surprise when I drove past the village pond this morning.
Last time I passed it was full of weeds instead of water. (( see here)
Today this large excavator was digging out all the silt and debris which was at the bottom.
Two huge piles of soil and mud already.
The village is now raising money to replant the pond when they have finished.
It is only two years since this was done before, and the sides of the pond were shored up. ( see here)
Unfortunately they should have also done this work at the same time.
It is going to take a lot of rain for it to fill up again.

I was talking to someone who lives by the pond and he said four ducks flew in a few days ago. Had a look round and flew off again.
I suppose eventually everything will get back to normal.

Our friends, fellow blipper Northernlass and husband, came over today for lunch, and we have spent a very happy few hours together.
They will be going back to Spain again soon after having spent a very enjoyable summer in England. Best weather too!
We are already looking forward to going over to Spain to see them next Spring.

After a mizzling morning the weather has been very warm today, but not much sun.
No strong wind or rain yet. May be that is to come later.
