Bearing North by Northwest

A day off for the boiler repair man to come. And he came and, hopefully, fixed the high-pressure and resultant overflow drip.
And I replaced the rattling top bearing in the steering column.
Unfortunately, the rebuilt column is now 2cm shorter. And so the steering shaft with UJs is too short.
It’s now with an engineering firm to be lengthened.
It was weird driving the car back into the garage with the steering not connected.
