Salvage from the Wreckage

By NickMogToo

Long four-day week...

Picked up the lengthened steering link on Wednesday morning. The guy had done a neat job and £20 seemed very reasonable. And we had a good talk about Landrovers, H vans and campers. He and his wife plan to get a forward-control Landry, fit it out as a camper and drive across Russia and the Road of Bones (as per Ewan McGregor and Charlie Boorman).

Fitted it in the evening - a lot of time spent doing up bolts that had one end in the footwell and the other in the engine compartment. I need more and longer arms.

Friday’s 7 a side turned out to be 5 a side with people dropping out all over the place.

Today we went to The Junction in Cambridge to see They Might Be Giants. We had planned to spend the afternoon looking around but the weather put us off. We had a pizza first and managed to time it perfectly so that we walked in seconds before the band came on stage.

They really are very good. Their more recent stuff is as good as anything they’ve done. And the band are really tight. Top trumpet playing as well (or slide trombone in this shot) from Bruce S’s trumpet man.
