722-481 BC

You can't miss this piece of street art from the Cities of Hope exhibition. It's huge!  It's called '722-481 BC' and is a collaborative work from Faith 47 and Lyall Sprong of Thingking.

The mural pays homage to human intimacy as well asserting support for LGBT rights. It says the mural is "brought to life at night with a geometric light installation exploring shadows as not merely the absence of light. A symbolic interpretation of the ‘gay friendly area’ sign lights up on an adjacent wall".  The lights no longer seem to be working unfortunately, I would have loved to see how it enhanced the image.

“Relationships rise and fall, societies blossom and crumble,” says Faith47.  “The profound connectedness between us creates and destroys life.  We are sensitive and caring, yet at the same time vulnerable and cruel.  The foundation of the 7.83hz project is recognising this duality as well as the profound weight of our interconnectedness”.

Quote for today:
It matters not who you love, where you love, why you love, when you love or how you love, it matters only that you love.
- John Lennon
