Very grey

Today has been a very grey day. And extremely windy.

We set off on the South West Coastal Path in the direction of Seaton. The footpath was quite slippery and muddy and we had to watch our footsteps. The SW path was a distance from the sea and we hardly had a glimpse of the waves. Much as I love trees, I was hoping to see some sea and not to be enclosed by woods. We only covered about 3 miles of strenuous walking and did not see any wildlife apart from plants. Where were the birds, squirrels and butterflies?

After our picnic lunch we returned to Lyme and were literally blown up the hill by the raging winds.

This evening we walked down to the Marine Parade and had a glass of two of wine in a lovely brasserie called SWIM that overlooks the sea and watched the waves crashing over the Cobb.
