Passing through metal

After a busy morning meeting with the plasterer, a kitchen designer and a friend with design ideas, I cycled into the town centre for an arty-farty interlude at Kettle's Yard, where this week's quick-fire exhibition was the sonic performance 'Passing through metal'. I was disappointed to realise that the 40 knitters and death metal band Anoxide were only live on Monday evening, and what I was able to see and hear were empty chairs and a recording of Monday night's performance. I had a nice chat with the attendant volunteer and another visitor who was herself an artist and we both concluded that it would indeed have been a sight to behold and that it was a shame that there weren't daily performances but that we weren't entirely sure what it paid forward apart from a raised eyebrow, a chuckle and a good photo opp. In an unforeseen turn of events we both ended up showing off a few quick Irish dancing moves in the corner of the Sackler Gallery so there was indeed a live performance of sorts in there today after all ;)
Late afternoon I met with Paul to discuss all things electrical in the new flat. He is another of life's buena gente and, given his experience and expertise, and knowing the work he has done for me in the past, he inspires nothing but confidence that everything is going to be not just ok but pretty damn fine.
