Autumn Harvest

On this first day of Autumn, it couldn't have rained harder. Our lane was flowing like a mini river and the once parched chicken field is now awash with mud. A sign of things to come.

The heating is now on continuously and I have a feeling that autumn will disappear rapidly and be replaced with a wintery weather pattern as in 2016/2017.

This afternoon Ian harvested the crops that arein my blip . He has made a delicious smelling Butternut Squash soup which I'm sure will be as tasty as it smells and looks. Roasted aubergines, courgettes and beetroots will be next on the menu tonight. We won't be making wine with the grapes but they will make a tasty dessert.
