Day of the Bearded Vulture

This magnificent bone eating bird (an adult with a 2.6 - 3m wingspan, one of the estimated 32 bearded vultures in Switzerland, depending on which site you look at) circled us twice on the way up to the summit of the Munt la Schera and on both occasions my long lens was in the rucksack! So this was the best I could do eventually. Another superb day on the hill, this time in the Swiss National Park in the Grisons. SwissPiper and Malcom’sEye on the summit in the extra.

I hope you have had a great weekend to, and thanks so much for putting yesterday’s cotton grass scene on the No 1 Popular Page.
