The Grand Finale

Inspired by posts of NZ blipper JimHarding, I learned of a new Cleveland Metropark Towpath not known to me before.  So off we went early in the day to see Scranton Flats, where we walked along the Cuyahoga River, watching boats and birds and admiring the maze of bridges old and new.  While we were there, why not?  We drove and parked downtown to visit the newly redesigned Public Square.  Oh, there's another place since we're so close...On to Edgewater Park beach where Lake Erie was stunning today with sunshine at 70 degrees.  We got hungry so... Just as we were finishing dinner at The Flatiron, we noticed a huge (634’ x 68’ per Wikipedia)  freighter coming round the river bend at Collission Curve.  We paid the waitress and ran out to watch it snake along under the Main Street bridge by the Center Street swing bridge.  Then drove to see it clear the Columbus Street lift bridge and behind The Foundry, with kayaking blippers gliding alongside it, and a Goodyear blimp overhead.

The fourth anniversary of my Mom’s death.  She’d be glad we enjoyed our day so much.  We miss you Mom.
