An Arena and a Blipmeet

So, you are wandering through the rather elegant streets of Nîmes, with some quite exclusive shops and a lot of cafés, and you suddenly come across this - a huge Roman amphitheatre. Built almost two thousand years ago, the amphitheatre at Nîmes is regarded as one of the best preserved buildings of the Roman Empire. There are 24 tiers of steps and it could seat more than 23,000 people. It is quite a sight even today.

And some people might recognise two Blippers in the extra photo (taken by Gordon). Veronica is currently on a bread making course in the lovely town of Uzès, not far from Nîmes and we were able to coincide our planned trip to the city with her, so we could meet up and sit for a while in the charming square in Uzès. Lovely to meet up at last and have a chat.
