Farewell

Rain stopped play this morning – or at least changed our plans. We had a leisurely breakfast and an equally leisurely coffee at Larch Cottage. Then we headed on towards Carlisle, calling in at Wreay, as I was sure our visitors would like the superb little church there – I wasn’t wrong.

By then the rain had stopped and, on arrival in Carlisle, we walked up to the City Walls and through the Cathedral precinct. Lunch and more chat and then we took them to the station and waited with them for the Carlisle to Edinburgh train.

It has been such a joy to have NannaK and H to stay, that today’s blip had to be them on their way to the next part of their adventure.
