Goodbye Barn

We woke up this morning to hear vague crashings and banging from one of our neighbours. The barn that had been signposted as unstable and dangerous to enter back in 1985 was finally being demolished, with several large machines doing the destruction, with much noise and dust!
In my blip half of the barn is still standing, but not for much longer. A chain around a corner post, a good pull from the biggest machine, and it all comes crashing to the ground.
As always when I see these old building coming down I reflect how many man-hours went into the construction of the building in days when much of the building work was manual.  The beams in the picture were sawn in a sawmill, probably the one just a kilometer away itself a ruin now.
