Blue Sky, Autumn colours and plane trails

Taken this afternoon while we were sitting on the seat outside the back door enjoying a cup of tea  and watching numerous planes cross the clear blue sky overhead.  First thing in the morning and early afternoon seem to be the times when the sky gets very busy.  I’ve used this image rather than the one with more sky because we’ve had to move the bird feeders today as one of our regular visiting cats managed to catch a blue-tit.  The cats have found themselves a den underneath the Lonicera bush from which they keep a hunting eye out on the activity above.  Hopefully this new place has not got a place for a cat to hide.  Meanwhile, elsewhere in the garden, Merv made a start on building the low stone wall for another new flower bed while I planted out a few more plants and cleared away the runner bean tipi that had blown over in the wind.  A constructive morning for all (and a destructive morning for the sleek grey cat).
