Barring the way

A couple of headless models of Anchor Line Officers on an unused staircase in the former head office.  The building is now a very classy bar and restaurant retaining the elaborate decor. Extra: An old photo of the Anchor Line Head Office at 12-16 St. Vincent Place. The office was opened in 1907 for the  steamship company which played on its Scottish roots and employed Scottish crews, advertising "Scottish ships and Scottish crew for Scottish passengers". The University of Glasgow Archive Services hold the records of Anchor Line Ltd.
