Lunar underwing

This was one of many Lunar underwings in my moth trap this morning. This extremely variable little moth probably accounted for 85% of the entire catch, with individuals ranging in colour from brown to grey like this well marked individual here.
The Lunar underwing Omphaloscelis lunosa , is common in the south of Britain with a single generation flying in August and September. It's larvae feed on grasses.
